terms and conditions

Ferny Crofts have implemented a few terms and conditions for the event in addition to our standard terms:

  • This particular event is open to all Scout and Guide groups and is most suitable for those between the ages of 6 and 14. There will be plenty of activities for all these age groups to partake in.

  • All attendance must be booked prior the event and groups cannot turn up on the day without booking confirmation.

  • Full payment is required at the time of booking, and places are non-refundable.

  • All groups attending site must have a pastoral carer with them throughout the event. We advise that younger sections have more leaders attending, especially for the Woodland Trail.

  • Bookings can only be made by group leaders rather than individual bookings per participant.

  • Group leaders are responsible for arranging meeting/pick up points with members from their group once they have arrived to site. We recommend the Quiet Area or the main field (next to the amenities block) at the start of the event and the Gala Tents at the end of the event.

  • All other Ferny Crofts Terms and Conditions and Centre Rules still apply

Event disclaimer

Activities

  • Due to the nature of some of the activities, we advise that it may not be a suitable event for participants that become easily distressed when they are scared.

  • We can not guarantee that participants will be able to go on every single activity/ride that will be available. We shall manage queues as much as we are able to. If there is a long queue for a particular activity move onto the next and come back to avoiding waiting around and missing out altogether.

  • To help participants get through activities quicker the volunteers and Ferny Crofts staff will need the assistance of attending leaders to help the participants in their group. This especially applies to activities such as pumpkin carving and Arts and Crafts.

  • For groups that have attended past Fright Nights, please note that the 2024 event shall be a very similar in layout to past events and the majority of the activities available will be the same.

Woodland Trail

  • The Woodland trail will take place when it is dark and will feature various scary scenes with jumps and scares as well as flashing lights and loud noises.

  • There will be avoidance routes put in place during the trail for leaders to take participants through if necessary. However, groups must ensure that there is still a pastoral carer present with the rest of the group.

  • We can not guarantee that every participant will be scared enough as some will find it too scary. There is a wide spectrum to cater for and it is impossible to ensure that we cater for each individual. However, we do try our best to have a range of scenes with a variety of fear factor levels.
