Morning sunshine on Ferny Crofs campsites

 ABOUT US

Ferny Crofts is a 31 acre Scout Activity Centre in the heart of the New Forest National Park. Apart from its stunning location, Ferny Crofts boasts a whole host of outdoor activities, spacious camping for over 500, as well as three indoor accommodation units.

The centre is open to all Youth, Adult or School groups, whether it be for an activity day, simple overnight camp or a full week of fully catered adventure. Highly experienced and friendly staff are always on hand to assist you through the design, booking and delivery of your programme.

We host hundreds of youth groups who attend site to complete their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme and we are approved by the Council for Learning outside the Classroom. All of which make us the perfect base for a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award hike or School Residential trip. Please see our Schools and Youth Group pages for more information.

Facilities are provided at Ferny Crofts for persons with additional needs including wheelchair accessibility. If you have specific additional requirements which will enable you to make the most of your time at Ferny Crofts, please speak to us before you arrive.

Why We are Here

Ferny Crofts exists to inspire and develop young people through outdoor adventure, and this is at the heart of everything we do.

Our Vision is:
To have a reputation as a centre of excellence for outdoor adventure and personal development.

Our Mission is:
To provide a safe, diverse and inclusive environment that offers quality opportunities for learning through fun, adventure, development and acheivement, for young people, adults and aspiring leaders.

Ferny Crofts is owned by Hampshire County Scout Council, and is a charity. All of the money we make through our booking fees is re-invested in our site and facilities in support of our mission.

“The staff were exceptionally attentive, always checking that everything was OK. Definitely the most professional campsite I have been to.”

“The fact that the young people and leaders want to come back each year for our annual Christmas weekend says it all. Over ten years on the trot now, next year booked!”

“The Instructors are great with the children. Patient, fun and friendly while always putting safety first.”

Sustainability

As a Centre, Ferny Crofts is committed to sustainability. In recent years we have installed solar panels, rainwater harvesting and two ground source heat pumps. Any new development is guaranteed to be as environmentally friendly as possible.

Ferny Crofts couldn't run without our team of hard-working staff. Find out more about them here.
