Why We are Here
Ferny Crofts exists to inspire and develop young people through outdoor adventure, and this is at the heart of everything we do.
Our Vision is:
To have a reputation as a centre of excellence for outdoor adventure and personal development.
Our Mission is:
To provide a safe, diverse and inclusive environment that offers quality opportunities for learning through fun, adventure, development and acheivement, for young people, adults and aspiring leaders.
Ferny Crofts is owned by Hampshire County Scout Council, and is a charity. All of the money we make through our booking fees is re-invested in our site and facilities in support of our mission.
“The staff were exceptionally attentive, always checking that everything was OK. Definitely the most professional campsite I have been to.”
“The fact that the young people and leaders want to come back each year for our annual Christmas weekend says it all. Over ten years on the trot now, next year booked!”
“The Instructors are great with the children. Patient, fun and friendly while always putting safety first.”
!Ferny Crofts is 40
In 2017 Ferny Crofts celebrated 40 years since the first Hampshire Scout Camp took place here in May 1976.
We held our 40th Birthday Party in May 2017, following a year of celebrations which included the creation of a new 9 hole Crazy Golf course designed by Hampshire Scout Groups, and a 40th anniversary badge.
If you have memories from your time at Ferny Crofts throughout its history as the home of Hampshire Scouting, we want to hear about them! Please give us a call or send a letter or email. Our contact details are at the bottom of this page.
As a Centre, Ferny Crofts is committed to sustainability. In recent years we have installed solar panels, rainwater harvesting and two ground source heat pumps. Any new development is guaranteed to be as environmentally friendly as possible.
Ferny Crofts couldn't run without our team of hard-working staff. Find out more about them here.
