Tented Village

Ferny Crofts tented village is made up of eight bell tents, each on a raised bed with decked porched bases and solar panel lights at each entrance. It has its own concrete fire stand and benches within the campsite. 

A perfect way to take the hassle out of your camp. By booking the tented village your group will only need to bring along cooking equipment and personal kit. 

Included within the tented village

By booking the tented village you will get the following included:

  • 8 bell tents, each on a raised bed with decked porch bases and solar panel lights outside. 

  • A concrete fire base that can be used throughout the duration of your stay. 

  • A solid wooden picnic bench in the centre of the campsite. 

  • Use of a mess tent that will be set up prior your arrival with tables and benches included


Our tented village is located on Campsite One which is a wooded campsite situated behind the volleyball court. 

It is the ideal distance from the amenities block, water points and washing up station. 

Please note that the Tented Village is not available all year round. It is only available between April - September. (Exact dates vary each year)


We recommend that 6 - 8 young people can fit in each bell tent (depending on age) and 3 - 5 adults leaders in each tent. The allocation of tents will vary from group to group and will depend upon each groups set up. It is up to each visiting group to allocate participants to each tent.

Ferny Crofts can set up 3 man pop up tents on the campsite for any extra participants that are unable to be accommodated within the bell tents. Please note that there is a minimum charge of 28 participants per night within the Tented Village.

If you have forgotten something, or require additional equipment, we have a range of camping equipment for hire or purchase at Reception. These can also be booked in advance.

Our main Amenities Block at Ferny Crofts houses 15 toilets, 12 showers and 6 washing up sinks. There is also an additional toilet and shower suitable for those with disabilities.

There are also an additional four toilets and one shower close to Reception.

The Amenities Block was refurbished in spring 2016, bringing a fresh new look, and additional hot water supply.

At Ferny Crofts we are committed to ensuring our site is run in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner, so all of our toilets on site are flushed with rainwater.

A chemical toilet disposal point is also available on site.


Our Tuck Shop sells a range of souvenirs, badges, confectionery and ice creams. It also carries a small supply of essential items that you may have forgotten.

The Tuck Shop is open regularly during the Summer Holidays, during the hours stated on the shutters. At other times of the year, please come to Reception to arrange a time for the Shop to be opened for your Group.

Ferny Crofts badges can also be purchased from Reception (£1.00 each).

We also have vending machines on site, selling sweets and drinks. These are available at all times and are located next to the Tuck Shop.
