CAMPING FACILITIES
Ferny Crofts provides camping facilities for up to 500 people across 27 campsites. Our sites provide accommodation for a variety of camping needs, from the open space of the Main Field to secluded clearings in the woods.
CAMPSITE SIZES
We offer a range of different size campsites to suit your needs, from large field sites to smaller campsites in the woods.
Our campsites are banded in the following categories:
A – 30+ people
B – 20-30 people
C – 10-20 people
D – 5-10 people
For each of these bands, the sites have a set minimum charge according to their minimum capacity (eg ‘B’ Sites have a minimum charge of 20 people).
If more than one campsite is booked than the minimum fee payable equates to the maximum capacity of the larger site plus the minimum capacity of the smaller site. Click here to view our Minimum Charge Policy
When making a booking, please let us know whether you would prefer a field site or a wooded site.

Each campsite has a small concrete fire pit which can be used for open fires at your site. Fires are only permitted on these fire pits or on portable Altar Fires which are available from Reception.

PLEASE NOTE THAT NO VEHICLES ARE ALLOWED TO DRIVE ONTO THE CAMPSITES. IF A STAFF MEMBER AND SITE VEHICLE IS AVAILABLE YOUR TRAILER CAN BE TOWED TO YOUR CAMPSITE BY A MEMBER OF THE FERNY CROFTS TEAM. NOT ALL CAMPSITES CAN BE ACCESSED BY A VEHICLE AND THEREFORE TRAILERS MAY NOT BE ABLE TO BE PLACED DIRECTLY ONTO YOUR SITE.

Our new, fully equipped container kitchen will enhance your outdoor cooking experience. This container kitchen will make meal preparation at the campsite more efficient and enjoyable, allowing you to focus on the beauty of nature and the joy of cooking outdoors. TOILETS AND SHOWERS
Our main Amenities Block at Ferny Crofts houses 15 toilets, 12 showers and 6 washing up sinks. There is also an additional toilet and shower suitable for those with disabilities.
There are also an additional four toilets and one shower close to Reception.
The Amenities Block was refurbished in spring 2016, bringing a fresh new look, and additional hot water supply.
At Ferny Crofts we are committed to ensuring our site is run in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner, so all of our toilets on site are flushed with rainwater.
A chemical toilet disposal point is also available on site.
EQUIPMENT HIRE
If you have forgotten something, or require additional equipment, we have a range of camping equipment for hire or purchase at Reception. These can also be booked in advance.

- Altar Fire Grills
- Lockable Phone Charging Facilities
- Calor Gas
CAMPFIRE CIRCLE
As well as individual fire pits on each campsite, we also provide a large Campfire Circle, which is suitable for larger fires and has benches to accommodate large groups.
This is open for all to use, and is non-bookable. We encourage groups to make full use of this facility, and to invite other groups to join for a campfire during your stay.
During the summer holidays, Ferny Crofts staff organise a Camp Fire every Thursday evening for everyone on site.
TUCK SHOP
Our Tuck Shop sells a range of souvenirs, badges, confectionery and ice creams. It also carries a small supply of essential items that you may have forgotten.
The Tuck Shop is open regularly during the Summer Holidays, during the hours stated on the shutters. At other times of the year, please come to Reception to arrange a time for the Shop to be opened for your Group.
Ferny Crofts badges can also be purchased from Reception (£1.20 each). New for 2023 we have Activity badges available for £1.00 each (see below)
We also have a vending machine on site, selling sweets and drinks which is located next to the main amenities block.
