Community Mud run 2024
We are running our first ever Community Mud Run.
This event is open to all local businesses, charities and society groups.
Why not come along with your work colleagues/team mates for an afternoon 'out of the office'. It can either just be a fun experience that you all share together or you can make it into a Team Building day by helping each other all get through the course.
Friday 15th March 2024

What is the objective of this event?
Participants of Ferny Crofts Community Mud Run 2024 will run a course which will be broken up with a variety of team work inspired obstacles. The objective of this event is all about having fun in an outdoor environment whilst developing skills of working as a team. Therefore it will not be a timed event with an over all winner of the day, it will primarily be an event all about having fun whilst working alongside your colleagues/team mates taking part in the day and building a comradeship.
You do not have to be an experienced runner to take part in this event so training is not required.
The event will take place on Friday 15th March 2024, between 1:00pm - 4:00pm.
The only activity available during this time shall be the Mud Run Course itself but groups can get themselves warmed up and try out the colour run paint on the main field whilst waiting to be called to the starting line.
There will be one main course length (just over 1km) but there will be a diversion for anyone wanting to do a much shorter route. There is also the opportunity for multiple runs round the course for anyone feeling super energetic on the day!
There will be a variety of obstacles approximately every 100m throughout the course. These will include up and overs, crawl nets, spiders web, Beaver Dam, log hurdles, wooden tunnels, tyres, hay bales, pond dive and the ever popular colour run section to finish off.
Groups will be issued with a check in time at the time of booking. On the day, we shall ask you to check in upon arrival. The check in point will be located on the main field, next to the amenities block.
Groups will have been sent out an event pack at the time of booking which will include race numbers. On the back of each of these is space for each person to put details of any health conditions that any of their group have. Ferny Crofts only require details of medical conditions that may be affected by participating in the event. We shall not require individual names, as relevant medical details shall be allocated to the correlating participant numbers on the day.
You shall also have a chance to purchase some colour run paint packs which shall be £2 per bag or 3 for £5.00.
Once ready you shall be taken down to the starting line where you shall do a quick warm up before heading off to tackle the course.
Once everyone has finished the course, you shall be able to have a warm shower and get changed.
Food and Refreshments
Whilst you will have been getting covered in mud and paint, our team will have been busy rustling up some pizzas in our onsite pizza oven, for your team to sit down and enjoy afterwards. There shall also be soup and hot drinks available.
There is also drinking water available on site for participants to fill up their own bottles.
There shall also be a small Tuck Shop which we shall set up on the main field which will be selling sweets and cold drinks.
what to wear
You will get muddy, so if you are going to take on the Mud Run, make sure that you wear clothing that you do not mind getting dirty. We also advise that you ensure that clothing is lightweight and comfortable, so that you can move easily throughout the course.
Comfortable trainers are a must! Please DO NOT wear wellies, open toed shoes or football boots.
We would also advise bringing along a set of clean, dry clothes and a towel. There is a central amenities block available for people to change in, as well as shower.
There may be slight queues depending upon how many people want to shower at any one time. Therefore, we encourage participants to towel off as much as possible and shower once they get home to limit the impact on the amenities block and reduce the amount of time groups have to hang around.
We shall provide bin bags for participants to place their wet clothes into after the run
