SUMMER CAMPING 2020
For Summer 2020 only, Ferny Crofts is pleased to be open for Scout Leaders and their families to join us for a camping holiday in the New Forest. This is a unique opportunity whilst overnight Scouting bookings are not possible to enjoy our site as a family, check out our facilities for future Scouting trips, or just relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the New Forest National Park!
Whether you've camped with us before or this is your first visit, please ensure you read this page in full regarding the specific details of how to book your stay and the additional safety precautions in place associated with COVID-19 Coronavirus.
WHAT IS ON OFFER
We are opening our Main Camping Field from 7th August 2020 until the end of October Half Term.
Adult members of the Scout Association and their families are welcome to join us for a camping holiday (tents only) in a safe and secure environment whilst also supporting a Scout-owned Centre.
This is not to be confused with any formal Scouting Activity, where overnight stays are currently not sanctioned by the Scout Association. Campers will be attending as members of the public, and bookings will be strictly for household groups only.
WE ARE CURRENTLY ONLY HAVE AVAILABILITY FOR FOR CAMPING AS SHOWN BELOW. THIS WILL BE REGULARLY UPDATED SO PLEASE CHECK BEFORE SUBMITTING A BOOKING REQUEST.
We will also be offering a range of self-led activities including our wood-fired Pizza Ovens - more details below.

COVID 19 Coronavirus Safety
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Coronavirus Pandemic, we have a number of measures in place to help keep you and your family safe. We also of course have some additional rules and information which will ensure everyone on site enjoys their stay to its full potential.
This includes limiting site capacity to 35% of usual bookings, enhanced cleaning regimes, various social distancing measures, and increasing the number of toilet and shower facilities available. All of these will be explained to you when you place your booking.

TOILETS AND SHOWERS
Our main Amenities Block provides 15 toilets and 12 showers, with an additional toilet and shower suitable for those with disabilities. When the site is busy, we will also additionally open five of our indoor accommodation Toilet and Shower Rooms to ensure everyone has plenty of space to keep clean.
Toilet and Shower facilities will be cleaned 6 times per day during your stay, in accordance with the latest Coronavirus Safety recommendations.
At Ferny Crofts we are committed to ensuring our site is run in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner, so all of our toilets on site are flushed with rainwater.
A chemical toilet disposal point is also available on site, and we encourage you to bring your own toilet facilities if you have them.
Camping Pitches will be located on our Main Camping Field, and will be for tents only. We cannot accommodate caravans or campervans of any kind.
You will be allocated a pitch prior to arrival, which will be around 20 square meters in area.
Please book one pitch per household. If you wish to attend with another family, please request to book two pitches, and ensure you follow the latest social distancing rules at all times whilst on site.
A limited number of sites have electric hook-up available for a £15 one-off fee. Please request this at the time of booking.

Once we have received your request, we will place a provisional booking for you and let you know how to pay.
We will require payment in full prior to arrival, either by electronic bank transfer, or by credit/debit card.
Bookings will only be confirmed on receipt of full payment and proof of Scout Association Membership.
A number of our on-site self-led Activities will be on offer, which can be booked in advance, or by speaking to us whilst you're here.
This includes Frisbee Golf and Crazy Golf, Volleyball, and our wood-fired Pizza Oven.

To book an activity, just add a request to your booking form.
During your stay we will be operating a mostly 'contactless' Reception, where you can reach members of our team by telephone during opening hours.
When you arrive on site, we will ask you to call us to check in. We will then come and meet you outside (at a safe distance) to ensure you have found your campsite and answer any questions you may have.
Reception will only be physically open twice per day, for collection of activity equipment or to make any additional payments required.
If you require any additional equipment, we have a range of camping equipment for hire or purchase, which can be booked in advance.

In addition, we remind you that dogs (except assistance dogs) and caravans/campervans are not permitted, and that you must adhere to social distancing guidelines at all times whilst on site.
Check in and check out times
Bookings for weekends are available from 9am Thursday mornings to 4pm Monday afternoons.
Standard Check-in time is from 1pm and check-out by 12pm. On a Monday afternoon, check-out time is by 4pm.
