 Due to a last minute cancellation Ferny Crofts is pleased to be re-opening for Scout Leaders and their families to join us once again for a camping break in the New Forest. This is a unique opportunity available for one weekend only, whilst we are quiet on site with Scout Camp bookings. You can check out our facilities for future Scouting trips, or just relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the New Forest National Park! 

Whether you've camped with us before or this is your first visit, please ensure you read this page in full regarding the specific details of how to book your stay and the additional safety precautions in place associated with COVID-19 Coronavirus.

WHAT IS ON OFFER

Friday 10th - Sunday 12th september 2021

From the 10th - 12th September 2021, Ferny Crofts is pleased to be able to offer Adult Members of the Scout Association and Girl Guiding with their families to camp at Ferny Crofts.

Adult members of the Scout Association and their families are welcome to join us for a camping holiday (tents and trailer tents only) in a safe and secure environment whilst also supporting a Scout-owned Centre. 

This is not to be confused with any formal Scouting Activity and campers will be attending as members of the public. However, please note that there shall be Youth Groups staying on site for their Summer Camps. Therefore, consideration needs to be taken in regards to noise levels and site curfew, plus all other site rules being adhered to during your stay.  

 

Onsite amenities will be shared by all groups onsite, in accordance with the government and Scout guidelines on camping.

We will also be offering a range of self-led activities including our wood-fired Pizza Ovens - more details below. 

COVID 19 Coronavirus Safety

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Coronavirus Pandemic, we have a number of measures in place to help keep you and your family safe. We also of course have some additional rules and information which will ensure everyone on site enjoys their stay to its full potential.  

This includes limiting camping capacity to a maximum of 400 people on site, enhanced cleaning regimes, and social distancing measures.

 

All of these will be explained to you when you place your booking.

TOILETS AND SHOWERS

Our Main Toilet and Shower blocks will be open for campers on site, including an accessible facility. 

Toilets and Showers will be cleaned at least four times daily during your stay, and hand sanitiser stations are located across the site to keep hands clean.

At Ferny Crofts we are committed to ensuring our site is run in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner, so all of our toilets on site are flushed with rainwater.

A chemical toilet disposal point is also available on site, and we encourage you to bring your own toilet facilities if you have them.

Camping Pitches

Camping pitches will be located within a designated area on the site, with field and woodland pitches available and will be for tents only. The availability shall be very limited and will be on a first come first served basis.

 

We cannot accommodate caravans or campervans of any kind. 

You will be allocated a pitch prior to arrival. Please note that these shall not be our normal pitches, as these shall be split into smaller areas.

BOOKING PROCESS

To place a booking, click HERE to access our booking form. This will ask you for all the information you need to place a booking.

 

Once we have received your request, we will place a provisional booking for you and let you know how to pay.

 

We will require payment in full prior to arrival, either by electronic bank transfer, or by credit/debit card. 

 

Bookings will only be confirmed on receipt of full payment and proof of Scout Association Membership.

Activities

A number of our on-site self-led Activities will be on offer, which can be booked in advance, or by speaking to us whilst you're here.

This includes Frisbee Golf and Crazy Golf, Volleyball, and our wood-fired Pizza Oven.

Each activity will be open only to one household at a time, and equipment cleaned between each use. 

To book an activity, just add a request to your booking form. 

RECEPTION

During your stay the reception shall be open between the hours of 8:30-4:30pm each day.

When you arrive on site, we will ask you to check in. We will be present on site to assist if required.If you arrive out of office hours you can go straight to your campsite and check in at reception in the following morning. 

We also recommend that you check in via the NHS Test and Trace App when you arrive on site.

EQUIPMENT HIRE

If you require any additional equipment, we have a range of camping equipment for hire or purchase, which can be booked in advance.

Hire items include:
- 1x Table and 2x Benches - £10  
- Altar Fires BBQ with Grill - £5 
- Lockable Phone Charging Facilities - £6

 - Electric Hook-up (13A Caravan plug) - £15 (only 1       site available)
- Calor Gas Exchange

In addition, we remind you that dogs (except assistance dogs) and caravans/campervans are not permitted, and that you must adhere to social distancing guidelines at all times whilst on site.

Check in and check out times

Standard Check-in time is from 2pm on day of arrival and check-out by 12pm on day of departure. However, on the Sunday afternoon, check-out time is by 4pm. 

CHANGES TO GOVERNMENT RULES ON CAMPING 

Should your booking need to be cancelled due to changes in Government regulations regarding camping in England, we will contact you to cancel or postpone your booking. If you choose to cancel, we will refund your booking in full.
