Ferny Crofts Fun Days 2018
Building on the success of the Ferny Crofts 40th Anniversary Celebration and Hampshire Link Camp 2017, Ferny Crofts Scout Activity Centre will be running another weekend of Fun Days on the:
28th and 29th April 2018
bookings are now full
We are pleased to announce that after high demand and a busy week of bookings, both of our upcoming Fun Days are now full.
There will be a New Forest theme running throughout the weekend. The event will be supported by The Forestry Commission and The New Forest National Park.
The Fun Days will run on both the Saturday and the Sunday from 10am - 4pm and will cost £12 per young person. This does not include camping, which can be arranged separately (terms and conditions apply).
Each day will follow the same layout with lots of fun activities suitable for all ages to partake in across the site.
Each day is open to all sections of Hampshire Scouts, on a first come first served basis.
Fun day programme
Each Fun Day will run from 10:00am - 4:00pm and will feature 4 different Activity Zones that groups will work across throughout the day.
These will consist of the following activities:
Adventure Zone - Adventure Course, Archery, 3 Stack, Gladiator Challenge and Leap of Faith
Bushcraft and Games Zone - Tomahawk Throwing, Backwoods Cooking, Crazy Golf, Aeroball and Go Karts
Tower Zone - Mega Climb, Small Climb, Small Abseil, Bouldering and Zip Wire
The New Forest Zone - Verderers and New Forest Ponies, The Forestry Commission, New Forest Centre and Wood Branding
Other activities that will be taking place across the site:
Pizza Oven - sample some handmade pizzas from our Pizza Oven located within the Quiet Area.
Tuck Shop - a range of souvenirs and badges can be purchased throughout the day.
Groups who are just visiting for the day should arrive to site from 9:30am. You will be directed where to park by a member of our staff, please follow their directions as there will be restricted zones. We are going to be extremely busy across the site as we shall also be hosting the Leaders Rally on the Saturday 28th April, so it is strongly advised that you car share as much as possible to enable everyone room to park.
Once you are parked, make your way to Reception where you will be issued with your designated wristbands for all participants to wear throughout the day, plus the programme that you will be following. You will then be informed as to where to gather for the Flag Break which will open the days events.
Groups that are camping on site the evening prior the Fun Day they are attending, should check into Reception upon arrival. Please note that the check in time for groups camping on the Saturday night will be 4:00pm. You will then be directed to your designated camping area. Some of the campsites are being used for activities throughout each day. Therefore, groups will be camping within a large section of the main field and will each have a marked out area.
You will be issued with your designated wristbands for all participants to wear throughout the day, plus the programme that you will be following.
We advise that you pay any outstanding balance when checking in as this will help you avoid any queues that may develop within Reception once day visitors arrive to site in the morning.
terms and conditions
The idea of the event is to get as many young people across Hampshire Scouts to attend and experience our outdoor activities as well as interact and learn about the New Forest National Park. Therefore, Ferny Crofts have implemented a few terms and conditions for the weekend:
Groups have to book attendance in advance and can not just turn up on the day, due to the programme and staffing having to be confirmed before the event starts.
Groups are limited to only attending one of the Fun Days in order to accommodate a greater amount of people.
Groups can book camping at an additional cost but will be limited to a one night stay. This will be for the night before the Fun Day that is booked.
Camping will be charged at the normal Hampshire Scout rate of £2.25 but spaces will be limited. Please note that the check in time will be from 5pm for groups camping the Saturday night.
Leaders can attend the event for free but cannot partake in the activities.
Participants need to bring their own food/refreshments.
This particular event is only open to Hampshire Scouts.
