terms and conditions
Ferny Crofts have implemented a few terms and conditions for the event in addition to our standard terms:
This particular event is open to all Scout and Guide groups. There will be plenty of activities for all age groups to partake in.
All attendance must be booked prior the event and groups cannot turn up on the day without booking confirmation.
Full payment is required at the time of booking, and places are non-refundable.
Groups can book camping for the Saturday night only, at an additional cost of £2.25 (Scouts) and £2.70 (Guides) per person (inc leaders).
Attending Leaders must pay £1 to book attendance at the event. However, they will receive a Ferny Crofts Fright Night Badge without any additional cost.
All groups attending site must have a pastoral carer with them throughout the event.
Bookings can only be made by group leaders rather than individual bookings per participant.
Group leaders are responsible for arranging meeting/pick up points with members from their group once they have arrived to site. We recommend the Quiet Area at the start of the event and the Gala Tents at the end of the event.
All other Ferny Crofts Terms and Conditions, and Centre Rules still apply
Due to the nature of some of the activities we advise that it may not be a suitable event for participants that become easily distressed when they are scared.
We can not guarantee that participants will be able to go on every single activity/ride that will be available. We shall manage queues as much as we are able to. If there is a long queue for a particular activity move onto the next and come back to avoiding waiting around.
To help participants get through activities quicker the volunteers and Ferny Crofts staff will need the assistance of attending leaders to help the participants in their group. This especially applies to activities such as pumpkin carving and Arts and Crafts.
For groups that have attended past Fright Nights, please note that the 2021 event shall be very similar in layout and some of the activities available will be the same. We shall be making some amendments but some zones will feature the same activities because there are no alternatives.
The Woodland trail will take place when it is dark and will feature various scary scenes with jumps and scares as well as flashing lights and loud noises.
There will be avoidance routes put in place during the trail for leaders to take participants through if necessary. However, groups must ensure that there is still a pastoral carer present with the rest of the group.
We can not guarantee that every participant will be scared enough as some will find it too scary. There is a wide spectrum to cater for and it is impossible to ensure that we cater for each individual. However, we do try our best to have a range of scenes with a variety of fear factor levels.
CALLING ALL SCOUTS
To help us make the Ferny Crofts Fright Night Event a success we shall require a selection of volunteers to assist our staff throughout the day. We shall need people to help with a variety of jobs such as:
Running the Fairground game stalls.
Assisting within the Arts and Crafts area
Helping move props, decorations and lighting within the Woodland Trail
Supervising both the onsite and the inflatable activities.
Be involved within the live action elements of the Woodland Trail
Helping the Ferny Crofts staff direct participants around the site throughout the day, including drop off and pick up times.
Catering will be provided throughout the event for all volunteers.
Camping is available. Any volunteers 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult leader.
Each volunteer will be given a Limited edition Ferny Crofts Fright Night badge.
If you are a Hampshire Scout Leader, you shall receive a stamp on your Loyalty Card for a volunteer day. Once you have collected enough you will achieve the option of a free self-led activity or a nights camping for 12 participants. (Terms and Conditions apply)
