ACTIVITIES at Ferny Crofts
INSTRUCTED ACTIVITIES

Ferny Crofts provides a range of instructed activities on site. Let one of our experienced and fully qualified instructors deliver one of our fun and exciting activity sessions. We can tailor the session to suit the needs of your group, be that fun, teamwork or confidence building.

Self-led Activities

Ferny Crofts provides a number of activities which are self-led, for example our Picture Trail, Pioneering, or Orienteering. These activities are intended to be fun and engaging, but help keep costs manageable for our guests.

It is also possible for Scout Leaders with the relevant permits to self-instruct some of our other activities such as Raft Building or Climbing at a reduced cost. Please talk to us about the arrangements for this.

Activity Booking Procedure

Activities can be booked after your accommodation deposit has been paid. For most activities there is a deposit payable to confirm the booking of your sessions.

For School programmes, please see the Schools and Youth Group pages of this site.

For all of our Activities, it is the responsibility of the group leader to ensure that a pastoral carer over the age of 18 is present at all times whilst participating in Instructed Activities.

Please note that the majority of our activity sessions have a maximum capacity of 12 participants. Therefore, more than one session will need to be booked to accommodate larger groups.

heritage centre bookings

Ferny Crofts is the new home of the Hampshire Scouts Heritage Centre which is full of Scouting Memorabilia, ranging from photographs, magazine, uniforms, flags and badges.

This is a free activity that all groups can enjoy whilst visiting site and makes the ideal addition to any programme. Bookings are required in order to ensure that a member from the Heritage Team is available.

Hampshire groups can make a booking to visit the centre during weekday evenings throughout the year.

Alternatively, any groups that are staying on site during the year that would like to visit the centre, can contact the Ferny Crofts office to book in a preferred date and time. We shall then contact the heritage team for you.

The Heritage Centre will be open for all visiting groups to pop in and enjoy during our busy summer months. This will generally be every Wednesday and Sunday between 11-3pm. Groups can also email to arrange alternative times.
